whoaaa amazing

I'm not sure who(that reads my blog) is going to appreciate besides me the fact that this is a video of Radiohead opening the song "Everything in the Right Place" with the song "Dr. Baker" by The Beta Band. I've decided that if I had a life threatening disease and the make-a-wish foundation could grant me one wish it would be to have a private Radiohead concert at Great American Music Hall with all of my close friends. I got that idea because upon being asked the same question, a friend of a friend said she would have Garth Brooks sing to her. That also sounds nice, but Radiohead might be more uplifting? Enjoy...



Despite that this is my favorite music video, YES I meant to post THIS one....



umm and holy mackerel, who could forget about THIS performance? I love at the end when he looks like a little kid when jumping up and down to try and get the musicians to finish the song.

The Sartorialist

I think The Sartorialist is popular not because of the style he photographs necessarily, but because of his photography. He really has a knack for catching people in the natural air they possess. The kind of air that cannot be forced. I really appreciate that, because fashion is so more than just clothes, it’s a personality, and somehow he captures both. His ability to indirectly or directly succeed in getting these people to evoke such an honest presence and engage like that with a camera present AND after meeting them for 5 seconds is unbelievable to me.

Summer is here

At last I finished my drawing class at city college! Ended up being so rewarding. Final project was on film stills and mine's from the movie "Breathless" directed by Godard. Check it out...

Ladybird

Picked up this ditty today from an old man that sells antiques and records on the street near my apartment. He was so sweet, and told me that this birdhouse was made out of wood from a house in the neighborhood from 1906. Who knows whether or not that's even true but if it's not he's sure got his sweet old man with old stories sales personality down, and a happy customer I am for it. I wanted to paint it, but now that I know it's semi-ancient I might just mount it on my wall, or maybe stick opium poppies in it.

Drawing final

Will be recreating this image in charcoal for my drawing final (22X23.5 scale). Assignment is on film stills and are to be hung in Lost Weekend video on Valencia after they're completed. My teacher said last year someone got offered $30 for theirs....and thus the amazing financial opportunities available through the art world continue to intrigue me...
